| The Bowen Island Music Arts (BIMA) was founded early in the 1990s as the Bowen Island Music Association. It is now a committee under the umbrella of BIAC. BIMA supports the production and performance of live musical entertainment on Bowen Island. BIMA events include a 10- year coffee house series, Howe Sounds Music Festival, Endangered Species Cabarets and many visiting fine acts. BIMA hosts jam sessions and open mic nights, sponser music workshops, and produce concerts for kids on Bowen Island. Visit the BIMA website at musiconbowen.com. Bowen Island Community Choir, a non-profit society, promotes choral singing and presents community concerts. The director, Ellen McIntosh, welcomes all adults in singing a mix of contemporary and classical music.
