New Exhibit opens at the Gallery@Artisan Square
The Gallery is pleased to present Midnight Oils, an exhibit featuring the work of local artist, Tiffanee Scorer. According to her bio, Tiffanee loves to "live creatively through inspired moments as a parent, photographer, graphic designer, gardener, potter and painter." She graduated from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in 1992 with a degree in fine art, specializing in photography. She has been working in the commercial design, photography and high tech industries for the past 15 years.
Two years ago, Tiffanee took the first of several painting classes offered by Stuart Slind, through the Gallery @ Artisan Square. As a result, her enthusiasm
for colour and painting were re-ignited.
The mother of two young boys, Tiffanee finds the process of painting very meditative. When working, she finds herself totally engaged, and as in known to lose complete track of time.
Some of her painting is intuitive and thus freer but other works are more detailed and derive from researching a theme of interest. Her Emblems series took her town a path of 15th century communication and the emergence of illustrated books. The Floral Myth series developed from research that initially she got engaged in through her sons study in Greek Mythology.
Tiffanee's first solo exhibition is currently on display at The Gallery @ Artisan Square. The Artist’s Opening is Sunday April 5th from 2 p.m. -4 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The show runs from April 3- 26.
