New Exhibit at the Gallery @ Artisan Square

Featuring a Group 3-D art show

August 5 - 16, 2009

Innovative furniture designers Nicholas Purcell, Marcus Sabathil and Richard Best are three artists featured in the showing. Ceramic sculptures by the late Ron Tribe, who passed away just last month, will be a part of the exhibit. Tribe was internationally recognized and was a respected member of the Bowen arts community.

Tiffanee Scorer, a photographer who has been working with paint for over two years now and had her first solo painting exhibit at the Gallery last April, is also part of the show. Kathleen Ainscough, Judi Gedye, Jan van Willem de Wall, Stacy Beamer, Ross Cone and Carlos Vela-Martinez are among other local artists whose work will be included.

Studio Tours

You are invited to Bowen Island for our 2009 Studio Tours. Take a self-guided meander of our many studios and galleries and see a number of our local artists and artisans.

Pick up a Studio Tours brochure with a map of the island and marked location (and contact information) of the artists and galleries.  These brochures are available at the Bowen Tourism office, the Vancouver Tourism office, the Gallery @ Artisan Square, and at other Bowen participating galleries. The Studios are scattered across the island in many beautiful locations so make sure to plan out your route. Or if you are without a vehicle, there are many studios and galleries accessible by foot from Snug Cove.

Keep an open eye for bright yellow banners hanging in windows, door frames, or trees which indicate the locations of our artists and galleries.

On Saturday August 15thand Sunday August 16th, those participating in the Studio Tours will be open 10-5 p.m.  However, during the rest of the summer and throughout the year, tours may be arranged by contacting the artists.

Please visit www.biac.ca for more information.
