The Bowen Island Film Society presents Soul Birds, on Saturday, February 27.
In his brave and moving new documentary, director/editor/cinematographer Thomas Riedelsheimer (Touch the Sound & Rivers and Tides) follows three children living with life-threatening diseases. He offers intelligent, intimate portraits in which we, as viewers, have the rare privilege of experiencing the world through his subjects’ eyes. We explore their souls from within, pondering profound questions of life. And yet, at the heart of the film, there is stillness, peace and great beauty. In German with subtitles.“As rewarding as it is challenging, Soul Birds flies far beyond its particular setting near Munich, and deserves festival and television play of the widest order.” Rob Nelson, Variety.com
Director Thomas Riedelsheimer will be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening.
