!

Early-bird registration is now being accepted for the literary event of the season!

The Write on Bowen Festival, from July 2-4 and presented by the Bowen Island Arts Council is pleased to present top calibre facilitators and presenters, and an expanded program including opportunities to meet with local editors, agents, and publishers. A festival pass is currently available for only $150. It’s great value, but it’s only available to those who register by 15 May. One-day passes are also available for just $100. For detailed information about the Festival, visit the website. To register, click here.

We invite you to check out All Kinds of Writing, the blog of Lorna T. Suzuki. On Monday, 26 April, Lorna  featured an interview with Carol Cram, the Artistic Director of the Write on Bowen! Festival, (who also happens to be our BIAC president). Lorna, who will be offering a workshop at the festival, talked to Carol about how the festival got started, and includes highlights about presenters and workshops. As Carol says: "We have a wonderfully eclectic group of presenters this year. Actually, I should mention that “eclectic” has been our guiding principle in programming the festival. We want to feature all types of writing--from poetry to fiction to non-fiction to business writing to storytelling to song writing -- and on and on. Our goal is to make the festival a real coming together of writers in a wide range of areas." Click here to read the interview in its entirety.
