Blue Pencil Editing and Pitch Sessions

At Write on Bowen 2010, you can schedule a blue pencil editing session or a pitch session with one of the workshop facilitators. Each session is fifteen minutes long and provides you with the opportunity to get valuable feedback about your writing.

Cost

If you are a pass holder (full-festival or one-day), you are automatically entitled to a blue pencil editing or pitch session. Simply choose the facilitator you wish to see and contact as soon as possible to book your time. Don't wait until the day of the festival because the person you want to see may be booked up.

If you are not a pass holder, you can book a session for $15 from the registration page.

Following is a description of the two session types and the facilitators available.

Booking a Session

Here's how to book your session:

  1. Decide which type of session you prefer: Blue Pencil Editing or Pitch
  2. Select the facilitator you would like to see based on the type of writing you do or the type of work you plan to pitch (check their bios for information about their specialties).
  3. Email to book your session. Carol will assign you a time to meet with the facilitator. Note that most times are scheduled during workshops so if you are signed up for a workshop, you can slip out for your session at the appointed time and then return.
NOTE: Available sessions are limited so book early!
  4. About ten minutes before your appointed time, check in with the Blue Pencil Session Coordinator at the Registration table under the tent in Artisan Square and be directed to the location of your blue pencil editing/pitch session.
